Synopsis
This psychological thriller is pure vintage Film Noir. When med school dropout-turned-master criminal John Muller (Paul Henreid) puts together a major casino heist, not everything goes as planned. The cops dont know he was behind it but, unfortunately, a vindictive gangland casino owner (Tomas Brown Henry) figures it out. In order to disappear, Muller assumes the identity of psychiatrist Dr. Bartok (Henreid plays both roles), requiring him to scar his face to match Bartoks, resulting in unforeseen consequences. Co-starring Joan Bennet and directed by Steve Sekely, this film was also released under the title Hollow Triumph.
