Screenwriter Joan Tewkesbury (Thieves Like Us, Nashville) made her directorial debut with this gripping and well-acted drama intelligently written by Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver) and Leonard Schrader (Blue Collar). Diane Cruise (Talia Shire, Rocky, in a riveting performance) is a woman whose life has shattered into a myriad of pieces after the dissolution of her marriage.
